Singapore Airlines operates daily A-380 services to Melbourne

Singapore Airlines has started operating daily services to Melbourne using the super sized aircraft the Airbus 380.
The move is expected to add a much needed boost to the state’s visitor arrival numbers.
Sydney was the world’s first A-380 destination in October 2007 and the new flights make Australia the only country in the world to have the aircraft operate out of two cities.
According to the airline, since its launch the A-380 has carried nearly two million customers on more than 4,000 flights.
Singapore Airlines currently operates 21 weekly flights between Singapore and Melbourne, including the new daily A380 service.
“The A380 continues to be extremely popular with our customers and we have already seen a very positive booking response for our scheduled A380 services between Singapore and Melbourne,” said Mr. Huang Cheng Eng, Singapore Airlines Executive Vice President, Marketing and the Regions.
“On routes with multiple daily frequencies operated with different aircraft, many of our customers will specifically choose the service that is operated by this clean and green superjumbo”.
Passengers on the airline’s A380 are offered premium cabin products and services on board.
Business Class features the widest seat in its class (86cm) and Economy Class provides an ergonomically-designed seat offering customers more legroom.
