National Park, Perth

Once a favourite aboriginal camping-ground, National Park, which occupies a central part of the Darling Ranges, is now reserved in perpetuity as a sanctuary for native flora and fauna. Situated 15 km from Perth, the park occupies about 4,000 acres of bush and forest-land, which presents a magnificent picture in spring, when the wattle, grevillea, leschenaultia, and other wildflowers are in bloom.

National Park can be reached by motor along the York Road, which forms the southern boundary of the reserve. Alternatively, visitors may join one of the whole-day bus or train excursions arranged periodically by the Government Tourist Bureau.
