Lindeman Island

Whitsunday Group

One of the continental islands, is distinct from the coral cays of the Capricorn Group or the low-wooded islands north of Cairns. It stands midway between Mackay and Bowen and has an area of about 10 square kms. From Mount Oldfield (243 metres), the highest point on the island, splendid views of the neighbouring island groups can be obtained. Its location near the entrance to the beautiful Whitsunday Passage and easy access from the mainland make Lindeman one of the most favoured island-holiday resorts within the region of the Great Barrier Reef.
