This trip, which embraces all the main points of interest in and near the city, can be made either in the morning or afternoon. The outward journey is by Elphin Road, Hobler's Bridge, and past the little village of St Leonards to Corra Lynn Bridge. On the return journey, the route leads over the North Esk River and through the Punchbowl to the Lookout Tower, a vantage-point overlooking the city. At the Potteries the works are inspected, and thence the tourist goes to the head of the Cataract Gorge to inspect the hydro-electric power station. The return journey to the city passes Bald Hill where a splendid view of the city and Tamar River is obtained.
