Imbil Town - Imbil, QLD

Imbil Town

Imbil is the largest town in the lower Mary Valley, in Queensland.

Like most country towns, it has a warm community with many active groups, and that, combined with its picturesque main street perched on the banks of Yabba Creek, is one of its main attractions.

There is an annual country show, local Sunday markets starting at 9.00am and the Friday night youth group, as well as various events throughout the year.

One of the biggest events on the Australian Rally circuit is held in June with a challenging course through the Imbil State Forest. From thrills and spills of rally driving to the excitement of the Far-A-Way Easter Endurance Ride, the state forest is one of the most breathtaking venues available. Join us in August each year for the Mary Valley Show and Rodeo and take a drive to visit unlikely characters each with their own unique personalities during Scarecrow Season.

Enjoy the sight of the Mary Valley Heritage Railway train “The Rattler” as it steams into town every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. If you are looking for bargains - a wander through the Sunday market is a must. The local bowls club, hotel and cafes provide quality meals highlighting fresh local produce and warm friendly country hospitality

Visitors come to try their luck fishing at Borumba Dam, where saratoga is a common catch, or to pack a picnic and take the four-wheel-drive for a run to Jimna, kayak on the creek, or to simply soak up the country air and slow down again.
