At Burleigh Heads the beach extends between Big Burleigh and Little Burleigh Headlands. This resort is especially favoured by those who seek (in addition to surfing) boating and fishing which are available in near-by Tallebudgera Creek. There are interesting walks to the summit of Big Burleigh from which can be seen a splendid panorama of ocean, beaches, and headlands.

Currumbin, Palm Beach, Tugun; of these three resorts Currumbin is perhaps the best known. Currumbin Creek provides excellent facilities for bathing in warm shallows, fishing, and boating, while the beach is ideal for surfing. Palm Beach, a new resort, is situated between Burleigh Heads and Currumbin, while Tugun is between Currumbin and Coolangatta and is a favoured resort for fishermen.
