Yanchep Town

Yanchep is one of the most rapidly developing resort towns in Western Australia. Located only 47 kms north of Perth.

The name Yanchep is of Aboriginal origin, and is derived from "yanget", a native flax or bulrush , that is still found in Yanchep National Park.

Yanchep is coupled with neighbouring town Two Rocks and is often referred to as Yanchep Two Rocks. Just one hours drive north of Perth, the towns have some of the most pristine beaches close to Perth.

Yanchep has become one of Australia¹s premier tourist attractions. It is a modern and sophisticated tourist centre where the rich and the not-so-rich can mix and mingle. Sun City Marina at Two Rocks, 6 kms north of Yanchep, has become the largest marina in Australia . The town has two wonderful golf courses.

Yanchep offers a country lifestyle within easy distance of Perth. In late spring migrating whales can be seen, most frequently from Lagoon Beach. It is also a favourite swimming spot.


Accommodation ranges from bed and breakfasts and farm-stays, to self catering and motel style accommodation within walking distance of the beach. Several houses are also available for holiday rentals.
Yanchep National Park, lies to the east of the town, attracts over 240,00 local, interstate and international visitors each year. The park has some wonderful caves, and lakes including Loch McNess and Yanchep Lakes.

The Park offers some interesting walking trails ranging in length from 500 metres to 55 kms. The animals you might see are koalas, kangaroos, possums, goannas, lizards, kangaroos, tortoises and many more.

The park offers BBQ and picnic facilities, row boat hire.
