Altona Bayside Festival

Altona, just 8km from Melbourne CBD, holds its annual Bayside Festival on the third weekend in March. The festival is a community based festival that celebrates diversity in the stunning surrounds of the Altona Foreshore and Cherry Lake reserves.

The festival program includes an art show, craft market, home craft show, cooking demonstrations, pet show, baby show, swimming carnival, carnival rides, food stalls, multicultural food displays, competitions and live entertainment.

A fireworks display begins at approximately 9.10pm on Saturday night.

The Grand Street Parade of decorated bikes, trikes, scooters and pedal cars begins at 11.00am on Sunday. The fun begins at the beach end of Pier Street and ends at Cherry Lake. Prizes are awarded in the categories of best theme entry, best school/kinder entry, best community group entry, best business/industry entry and most innovative entry. The overall winner is the entry with the highest number of aggregate points from all 3 judges.

Children can enjoy the children's marquee providing exciting free entertainment. There is also a children's workshop where kid’s can explore their imaginations by creating a masterpiece with recycled materials.

The annual Altona Bayside Festival is a fantastic family and community orientated festival and is not to be missed!
