Australia Day in Berrima
Date: Friday 26th Jan 18
Time: 9:30 am - 5:30 pm
Berrima, a small colonial town approximately 130km south-west of Sydney, hosts its Australia Day celebrations on January 26. Australia Day is the largest annual community celebration in Australia which commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788 and the proclamation of British sovereignty over the eastern seaboard of Australia.

The Australia Day festivities at Berrima have grown to be one of the Southern Highland’s premier tourist events with visitor numbers exceeding more than ten thousand.

The day begins at 9.30am at the Historic Berrima Court House Museum where the Young Citizen and Citizen of the Year awards are announced by the Mayor of the Shire. This is followed by an address by the Australia Day Ambassador.

The festivities continue throughout the day including over 60 market stalls, fresh produce market, face painting for the kids, live entertainment, vintage car and machinery displays, a street festival and parade.

Come and join in the festivities at Berrima this Australia Day and celebrate what’s great about being an Aussie.
